Projects

For this project we had a team of 4 and we had to create a project based on communication barriers within a work place, and in the end give a presentation on the information. By meeting, collaborating, communicating, and practicing we were able to give an effective presentation to our class and present new information for our classmates to learn and use. We used power point to write down our topics and inserted images that fit the topic. We provided all the necessary tools in order to have a successful presentation.

Our team used various information from professional sources, and the books that we had available in the class to find the information that we needed. Putting all the information together and in order to make the presentation go as smoothly as possible.

This project taught me that having group communication when doing a project is essential because it makes it a lot easier for members to know their job and rolls are. Another thing that I learned is learning how to use the applications better, when you have group members you learn a lot of things that you previously didn't know. Overall this project was a great learning experience.

This project was an email activity. We were given an email that was not written properly, professionally, and business worthy. So it was my job to go in and find the mistakes and make improvements in the email and write a more effective email that can be used in the workplace, and be readable to team members and other staff members.

Finding the mistakes was a challenge because I had to be very picky on what was said and how it was written. There was a lot of information that didn't need to be stated in the email. There also was a lot of things in the email that are not supposed to be in there such as calling team members out, and all caps in letters, as well as bad grammar in certain areas. Cleaning up the email made writing a new one a whole lot easier because the more important information was stated and was the bulk of the email. Then lastly, the email to close it out. That was written to showcase that the email was complete and to reach out for further projects.

Overall this taught me how to write effective business emails that can be professionally written. Emails can become a routine so making the emails short and sweet for team members is a good lesson that I learned. I also learned that emails are written all the time so making it easier to understand is better for the team.

For this project I was assigned to track data on any topic of my choice so I decided to track the data on how loud I was listening to my music in my headphones, car, etc. I tracked the information over the month of October. Through the month I was provided all of the information that was shown in the pictures.

Over the month of October I was shown that I was listening to music at a high level every single day and the decibels that I was listening to was not at a healthy level. Over time that could be a bad thing and affect me in the future.

I learned in this project how to tarck data, how to read data, and how to use excel better. All of those will come in handy when being a business major because a lot of it has to deal with charts, data, and numbers, so getting a head start is always a good thing.

This project was based over the whole year there were multiple assignment that we had to do. This is a peer review activity, I would get a partner to review my projects and give me feedback, and this example is one that I did for another one of my partners.

We had to describe things that we would have fixed on our partners project, and we would have to describe things that we would improve upon in the project, and then we would describe things that were already working and how that could be used to better the project.

This taught me how to take feedback and implement that into my own projects and making them better, and it allowed me to learn how to make other peoples better and more effective.
